ENCY TRADE MARK GUIDELINES

For Extension Store developers Version 1.0 — Effective 1 November 2026

1. Purpose

These guidelines govern how developers publishing on the ENCY Extension Store may refer to ENCY, its products and its trade marks. They are incorporated into the Publishing Policy (paragraph 3(f)) and the Developer Agreement.

The aim is straightforward: your users should always be able to tell what comes from you and what comes from ENCY.

2. The marks

ENCY SOFTWARE LTD owns or uses the following marks, among others:

ENCY · ENCY Robot · ENCY Tuner · ENCY Hyper · ENCY Clouds · MachineMaker · the ENCY logo

No licence to use these marks is granted except as set out below.

3. What you may do

You may, without prior approval:

(a) state truthfully that your Extension works with, is compatible with, or is built for ENCY software — for example "for ENCY", "compatible with ENCY 5-Axis Mill", "works with ENCY Robot";

(b) use the word mark ENCY in plain text in your description, documentation and marketing, in a referential sense;

(c) state which ENCY licence your Extension requires — indeed, for a Gated Extension you must (Publishing Policy 4.3(c));

(d) use screenshots of the ENCY interface where necessary to illustrate how your Extension is used, provided they are current and not altered in a misleading way.

4. What you may not do

You must not:

(a) incorporate ENCY into the name of your Extension or your company in a way that suggests first-party origin. "ENCY Nesting Pro" is not acceptable; "Nesting Pro for ENCY" is;

(b) use the ENCY logo, or any mark confusingly similar to it, as or within your own logo, icon or branding;

(c) state or imply that your Extension is produced, published, endorsed, certified, approved or supported by ENCY, unless a separate written certification agreement is in place;

(d) register, or attempt to register, any domain name, social media handle, application name or trade mark containing ENCY or a confusingly similar term;

(e) use ENCY marks in a manner that disparages ENCY or its products;

(f) use ENCY marks in connection with any product distributed outside the Store, save in the referential sense permitted by section 3.

5. How to write the marks

Correct ENCY, ENCY Robot, ENCY Tuner, MachineMaker
Incorrect Ency, ency, ENCYCam, ENCY-Robot, Machine Maker

Use the mark as an adjective followed by a noun where possible: "the ENCY platform", not "an ENCY". Do not pluralise or make possessive: not "ENCYs", not "ENCY's toolpaths" when referring to your own output.

On first prominent use in documentation, attribute: "ENCY is a trade mark of ENCY SOFTWARE LTD."

6. Store listings

Your listing must clearly identify you as the publisher. ENCY displays third-party authorship on every listing, but your own description must not contradict it.

For Gated Extensions, state the required ENCY licence plainly in the description, in addition to the automatic notice ENCY displays.

7. Logo use

The ENCY logo may be used only under a separate written licence. Where such a licence is granted:

Clear space Minimum equal to the height of the "E" on all sides
Minimum size 24 px height on screen
Colour Official colours only, or single-colour black or white where reproduction requires
Alteration None — no stretching, recolouring, rotation, effects or redrawing

8. Enforcement

Use of the marks outside these guidelines is a breach of the Publishing Policy and may lead to a requirement to change your listing, name or materials, and to enforcement under Policy Section 6.

Nothing in these guidelines limits ENCY's rights in its trade marks, or any remedy available under trade mark law.

9. Questions

Uncertain whether a proposed name or usage is acceptable? Ask before you publish: [email protected]. We answer naming questions within 5 business days.
