Controlled tool tilt in CAM avoids body contact on side-wall roughing

The problem. Roughing close to a side wall often makes the tool body — not the flute — brush the workpiece. Even a light rub leaves marks, wears the shank, and adds chatter. Manual fixes (re-fixturing, sanding, extra ops) all cost cycle time.

A CAM-side fix. Instead of changing the setup, Simaxis Engenharia programmed a controlled tool tilt along the path. ENCY CAD/CAM software's redundant-axes optimiser sweeps the lean angle, flags collision and singularity zones, and picks a smooth tilt profile that keeps the flute engaged while the shank stays clear.
