5-Axis Aluminum Bracket: 6 Ops Down to 2

From 6 setups to 2 Czech job shop jhc-kovo revisited an aluminum bracket they used to run on a 3-axis mill. Moving the same part to 5-axis machining collapsed six operations into two — one setup for roughing, one for finishing the angled faces and pocketed geometry.

Programmed in ENCY CAD/CAM software The complex triangular geometry with internal ribs and cross-drilled holes came together through multiaxis toolpaths generated in ENCY CAD/CAM software. Indexed 3+2 positions handle the sloped faces; simultaneous 5-axis passes finish the pockets without re-fixturing.

LANG workholding on a trunnion The workpiece stays rigid on a LANG Makro-Grip Rail vise mounted to a Quick-Point zero-point plate on the trunnion table — accessible from every angle without breaking the setup between roughing and finishing.
