KUKA KR 210 on a 7th Axis: Offline Programming for Robotic Carving

KUKA KR 210 with a 7th axis Mahajan Automation programmed a robotic carving cell built around a KUKA KR 210 six-axis robot extended with a linear 7th axis. The extra travel gives the robot the reach to cover long foam blanks that would otherwise need repositioning.

Programmed offline in ENCY CAD/CAM software The cell was set up and validated in ENCY CAD/CAM software using its offline programming for industrial robots. Simulation covers robot posture, singularity avoidance and workspace limits on the 7th axis before any real cutting starts.

Sim-to-shop, side by side The clip pairs the simulated toolpath with the actual carving pass on the shop floor. Same reach, same tool orientation — the offline plan matches what the robot does on the foam blank, from roughing pockets through finishing contours.
