Previously, SOLIDWORKS integration was included in ENCY at no additional cost. Under the updated model, it will be provided as a separate paid licensing module: SOLIDWORKS Reader.
This change is connected with updated terms of the SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner Program.
What will change for ENCY users
- The SOLIDWORKS Reader module will control access to SOLIDWORKS file integration in ENCY.
- If your workflow includes SOLIDWORKS files, this module must be included in your ENCY license. This applies to integration with any SOLIDWORKS version.
- Future support for new SOLIDWORKS versions will be provided only to ENCY users who have the SOLIDWORKS Reader module in their license.
- Users without active Software Maintenance Contract (SMC) will continue using the SOLIDWORKS integration available in their current ENCY version. However, they should not expect correct work with files from future SOLIDWORKS versions.
Pricing
To make the transition easier, SOLIDWORKS Reader will be free of charge until the end of 2026. Pricing for 2027 will be announced later.
This gives users and partners time to adjust before the new commercial model takes full effect.
What you need to do
If you actively use SOLIDWORKS files in ENCY, please make sure that the SOLIDWORKS Reader module is included in your license.
For any questions, please contact your nearest local ENCY dealer. They will help check your license, add the module if needed, and guide you through the update process.
