Shared by Lavorazioni Meccaniche CS, this post highlights the process of manufacturing mold components for the die & mold industry using CNC milling.
3D Modeling and CAM Programming
The workflow begins with converting a customer’s 2D design into a precise 3D model. As seen in the screenshots, ENCY CAD/CAM software is used to program and simulate toolpaths for a series of complex mold inserts and brackets. The CAM interface shows simulations and step-by-step machining operations, supporting efficient planning and quality assurance.
CNC Machining and Results
Photos and CAM screenshots document the step-by-step production of steel and aluminum mold inserts. Each part, featuring intricate cavities, guide holes, and cooling channels, is milled using 2.5x and 3x axis CNC centers. The finished components support applications in plastic injection molding, critical for automotive and high-precision manufacturing.
Component Inspection
The final image shows a completed, injection-molded plastic housing produced using the machined mold, demonstrating the high standards maintained throughout the process with ENCY.
