COMAC brings robotic machining to natural stone slabs

First national maker of stone-milling robots
COMAC Robótica e CAD/CAM, based in Brazil, presents itself as the country's first national manufacturer of robotized technology for machining natural stone. The wet milling cell pairs a six-axis Comau robot with a heavy-duty spindle programmed in ENCY CAD/CAM software.

A raw stone slab is fixed on a rotary indexing table inside a mesh-guarded cell. Blue Loc-Line coolant nozzles flood the cutting zone, cooling the diamond tooling, controlling silica dust and washing away slurry as the robot profiles the workpiece from multiple angles.

Andre Dagostin shared the shop-floor clip on LinkedIn to show that robotized stone machining — long dominated by imported bridge saws and 5-axis gantries — can now be built domestically in Brazil, with CAM that supports full 6-axis robot kinematics.
